With three inches of rain since Sunday on the property here at Niakwa we are once again battling wet and soft conditions throughout the course with standing water in areas of rough. These repetitive conditions continue to make it difficult to achieve the course conditioning and presentation that we desire. Read More>>
What continues to compound with the weather events is the loss of hours for care and conditioning of the property putting many items further behind. When we are this saturated it does not take much rainfall to prevent maintenance from progressing to eliminate any damages to the property. Details such as bunker weeding, sand addition to bunkers, cart paths and trimming trees are all in need. Mowing the property is also behind and will take priority when conditions allow.
Please be patient as we continue to do what we can, where we can this spring. We are hopeful that those beautiful sunny Manitoba summer days are near for both the game of golf and course maintenance. One thing to be extremely grateful for this spring is the drainage system that keeps Niakwa playable while many courses around us are not so fortunate this season.
Respectfully,
