Notice to Members – Course Update – Covid-19 (Coronavirus)

The Board and Management continue to monitor the evolution of the COVID-19 pandemic and have been actively working on a number of contingency plans. As we consider the many variables surrounding this situation, safety and our member’s experience remain our top priority in navigating our way forward. It remains our goal to provide the membership with an exceptional golf experience this season and ensure that Niakwa remains in a strong operating position.

Currently, the management team is busy preparing for the upcoming playing season. This includes planning for all scenarios ranging from a typical opening with full services as soon as the course is ready, to dealing with the current and possible future directions and restrictions the various authorities may impose. Many protocols have been established to ensure the health and safety of our members and staff. All of which can also be adjusted to allow Niakwa to operate within any of the scenarios. The important message to our members is that management is prepared and will be ready to open as soon as circumstances permit.

As we work our way through this, it becomes clear how fortunate we are that golf is an outdoor sport which can be played while practicing social distancing. What also becomes abundantly clear is the important role that golf will play in our members lives during this stressful time. Everyone will need a way to stay healthy both mentally and physically, enjoy some outdoor activity and the opportunity to engage socially with friends and family.

Over the past weeks we have received incredible support from the membership and on behalf of the entire team, I would like to express our sincere appreciation for your care and understanding. Moving forward, if you should have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me directly by email at or by phone at 204.256.7326.

We wish you and your family safety and good health.
